Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha on Friday sustained a head injury in an accident involving his convoy.
The governor’s official car had a head-on collision with a Mercedes
Benz car, along the Orlu/Owerri road when the yet to
be identified driver rammed into the governor’s convoy.
Okorocha who was on a project tour before the accident was rushed to
an undisclosed hospital where he was treated and discharged.
The Commissioner of Information, Mr. Chinedu Offor said that the
governor’s condition was stable. “The governor’s official car had a
head-on collision with a driver but he escaped with minor injuries and
his condition is stable now,” he said.
According to the Commissioner, no other person in the governor’s convoy sustained injury.
Meanwhile, when our reporter visited the scene of the accident, the vehicles had been removed.
