Adamawa State Governor Murtala Nyako

Update on In 9ja: President Goodluck Sacks Ahmed Gulak

-Adamawa State Governor Murtala Nyako spoke through his Director of Press, Ahmad Sajo, said he sympathized with Gulak, expressing sadness over the reported jubilation in Gulak town in Madagali in response to his exit from office.
-Nyako said that the sack should teach the former political adviser to the president a lesson about the transient nature of power.
-He opined that Gulak turned himself in to the spokes man of the presidency instead of discharging his responsibility as an advisor to the president.
“But today, the real presidential spokesman has spoken by showing the exit route to him (Gulak) unceremoniously”, he stated.
He advised Gulak to learn a lesson from his exit as regards the transient nature of power.

Aggrieved mothers and other indigenes of Chibok, Borno State, staged a protest to demand the immediate rescue or release of the more than 200 secondary school girls abducted by suspected Boko Haram insurgents on April 14.

They converged at Eagle Square in Abuja and then they marched to the National Assembly to submit a protest letter. The women were led into the premises of the national legislature by a group of senior female police officers.
Senators Barnabas Gemade and Helen Esuene received the protesters, telling them that the Senate was considering a motion in relation to the abducted girls.

One of the women Mrs Naomi Mutah, said:
“Our daughters were carried away by the insurgents like cows into the wilderness. If they are dead; we want to see their corpses.
“For the past two weeks that the incident occurred, nobody has talked to us; has the government thrown away the bath water with the baby?’’
“We have come here to express our dismay, probably if the government sees us like this; it may ginger them to do what they are supposed to do.
“We want government to rescue our daughters from their abductors’’
Sen. Barnabas Gemade, who addressed the women said:
“I want to assure that the Senate is not sleeping, senate is not reneging on its responsibility but is working very hard that something is done very urgently on this matter.’’
