#More Updates on the Nyanya Motor Park Bombing. More PHOTOs

-71 feared killed, 124 injured in Abuja terrorist bombing-Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Frank Mba,
Though the police did not confirm the car that carried the bomb, some witnesses said the driver did not die in blast, but went out of the park in a guise to look for change when the blast occurred.
The car at the scene burnt beyond recognition but the number 26AS 9730302621 was still conspicuous on the chassis. It is not clear as at press time if the suspect was anywhere near the blast, but it is certain he was out of the car at the time of the explosion.

-The injured victims of the blast were rushed to the general hospitals in Asokoro, Maitama, Wuse and Nyanya as well as   the National Hospital, Abuja as the Customs Hospital, Karu.

Health Minister, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu, who monitored the development at the National Hospital, Abuja, pleaded with people to donate blood at the various health facilities in Abuja.
He said: “They (victims) are being attended to very well. Many are in the theatre, and would be admitted in the intensive care unit thereafter. Since morning, we have been able to get many agencies to begin to work. Some of you may have noticed that officials of the National Blood Transfusion Service have been visiting various hospitals working with the hospital authorities there. Blood should not be an issue. They have placed announcements in some of the radio stations, asking volunteers to come and donate and people are actually coming here to donate blood. We believe that blood should not be an issue. If any patient requires blood, the hospital authorities will ensure that such a patient receives blood transfusion.

Four suicide bombers detonated IEDs
According to an eyewitness account, the attack was carried out by four insurgents in a Volkswagen Golf which was in the park.
It was learnt that when the bombs were detonated, the insurgents opened the car and were running away but were killed along with travellers and other residents who were rushing to their places of work.
Investigation further revealed that the explosion was a well-planned suicide attack on the FCT.
A picture of the wreckage of the   car showed one of the suicide bombers with a picture of a child believed to be his son placed on his stomach.
The dead bomber’s body also had IED wires tied to his thighs.
Security operatives and medical personnel also saw several charms on the body of the bomber.

 - President Goodluck and the Vice President Namadi Sambo have since visited the hospitals where the victims of the attack are being treated and he also checked the site of the bomb blast to see things for himself.

HBC: Please HB readers based in Abuja, lets donate to the victims of the attack. Lets not just talk, fold our arms and watch things happen. Lets go out there and help in whatever way we can. I pray the government will not handle this matter reluctantly.
