Soon afterwords, the government reported that the military has most of the kidnapped girls have been released and that only 8 of the 129 are still missing.And now, the Principal of the school said the military and government lied. The girls are still missing.
Principal of Government Girls Secondary School (GGSS) Chibok has claimed that the rescue of 107 abducted school girls in Borno is false. The principal Asabe Kwambura said:
“There is nothing in the military statement that is true about our abducted girls. Up till now we are still waiting and praying for the safe return of the students; all I know is that we have only 14 of them, and the security people especially the Vigilante and the well meaning volunteers of Gwoza are still out searching for them. All the information passed on the media by the military concerning 107 girls is not true.”
However, the principal admitted that what Borno State Governor said that about 14 girls have escaped.
A female senior Civil Servant with the Borno state government, who requested not to be named said, “What kind of nonsense is this for God sake? Why are they playing politics with the lives of these innocent girls; I had just called some of my relatives in Chibok and they told me none of the girls had been released apart from the 14 that escaped back to town. We hope the military is not doing some thing funny with this very sensitive issue.”When contacted late last night, Mr. Olukolade insisted it was the principal of the school who told the military that only eight girls were now missing.

Gov. Kashim Shettima, who made the pledge while addressing newsmen in Maiduguri, described the abduction as unfortunate.
“I want to make a pledge of N50 million to any individual or individuals who can supply credible information that will lead to the rescue of the abducted girls. The Commissioner for Education is in constant touch with the principal of the school. I am also in constant touch with both the district head of the village and the principal for regular updates. We are willing, as a government, to go to every length to ensure that the innocent girls are rescued unhurt. I plan to relocate to Chibok and spend a day or two until we make appreciable progress in the rescue of the girls. There is an ongoing military operation for the rescue of the girls. I believe that the Nigerian Armed Forces, being one of the best in Africa, will succeed in rescuing them.”
And Yesterday, Doyin Okupe Tweeted that he takes "full responsibility" for the misinformation on the abducted school girls
Mr Doyin Okupe is the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs. He had issued a statement saying the military had released the girls. It was later found to be false. The girls are still missing.

ReplyDeleteMy thoughts are that if these girls are not found, in nine moths time, 115 terrorist will be born. To me, that isthe only reason for kidnapping innocent girls. To rape them and have them bear children who would be brainwashed into terrorism.
