| LG-curved-OLED: World first curved 3D TV |
Two weeks back LG's announced
that it will launch a curved OLED TV "later this year.” But the first
such 55-inch device is here already, available for pre-order in South
Korea.
The 55EA9800, as it's called, offers what LG calls an "IMAX-like"
experience of the home, with the entire screen surface being equidistant
and the edges curved towards the viewer. The pic sure looks good as
you can see above.

The TV is 4.3 millimeters (0.17 inches) thin and weighs 17 kilograms
(37.48 pounds). The LG's WRGB and Color Refiner technologies would
deliver great color and vibrant, natural images.

The LG 55EA9800 will be first available in South Korea at 1,400 LG
retail stores, The pre-orders for the TV will start on April 29th, with
the first deliveries beginning sometime in June for the price of 15
million Korean Won ($13,500).
The device's availability and pricing in other markets will be
announced "in the months ahead,” according to the Company’s press
release.
