Clocky functions as a regular alarm clock, except that it has a microprocessor which allows it to move on its own. So when you press the snooze button for a second time, it rolls off and quickly moves around with its large, rubber legs and durable body, searching for a place to hide. While it is moving across the room, it keeps on beeping due to which you are forced to get out of bed to first find it and then press the snooze button again.
Clocky was designed and developed by Gauri Nanda. She is a designer, inventor and a successful women entrepreneur.
Being an oversleeper, getting up early was a challenge for her and
while studying at MIT, she created Clocky – an alarm clock that runs
away and hides, forcing you to get out of bed. This device was such a
sensation that she eventually started a company Nanda Home to
commercialize it.
