There are
numerous risks involved in hooking up with someone which but in the sparsely
populated country of Iceland there is an additional risk; your date could be a
relative! Iceland has only 320,000 inhabitants and it’s not unlikely that your
attractive date could be a very close relative. God forbid, maybe even your
aunty! But no worries...this were a mobile app comes in handy!
The mobile app (IslendingaApp) was developed
by three young software-engineering students at the University of Iceland,
which lets users instantly compare their lineage by bumping their mobile
devices together. The app has an .incest-prevention alarm. “When you bump the
phones, it shows one’s nearest common ancestors. If bumped with someone too
closely related, an alarm sound and a text warning is issued.”
Just
imagine the disaster that can be averted by using this app and not crossing forbidden
boundaries! This app also provides calendar reminders for birthdays and
anniversaries of relatives.
But
unfortunately, this app is for Icelanders only!
